Number Plates – Halloween

Halloween falls on Tuesday this year and we all know that Hallowe’en also known as Allhallowen, All Hallows Eve or All Saints Eve is a celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31st which is the eve of the western christian feast of All Hallows Day.

People remember the dead including saints, martrys’ and all the faithfully departed.

It is widely believed that many Halloween traditions originated from the Celtic Harvest Festivals which may have Pagan roots, particularly the Gaelic Festival ‘Samhain’ and this festival was Christianized as Halloween.

The word Halloween dates back to about 1745.

Nowadays it is traditional for us to carve pumpkins and make scary faces on them and we light them up with candles sometimes called Jack o Lanterns. We also dress up in fancy dress usually depicting some zombie or dead character the scarier the better or witches and skeletons and children go trick or treating and take part in apple bobbing. The television usually shows a Horror Classic.

Once again we at Motor Marks have compiled a short list featuring some of our number plates that we think are suitable for Halloween.
