Cherished number plates which are also known as dateless or antique number plates are vehicle registration numbers that were first issued before 1963 and therefore do not have a suffix or prefix age identifier. These types of cherished number plates are usually more expensive and are sometimes more desired by professional people and many motor trades and vehicle enthusiasts and are seen as a very good investment. They are classed as ‘cherished’ because they have remained in circulation for a very long time usually passing down in families for generations. They exist either on a V778 or V750 retention certificate or on a vehicle.
