Number Plates for Easter

Well it will soon be Easter and this year we see Easter arrive rather early. Good Friday is 25th March 2016 and Easter Sunday is 27th March 2016. As always Easter is usually celebrated by the giving of Chocolate in the shape of either Bunnies or Eggs and we also see the onset of spring with daffodils and spring lambs and chicks.

What is the meaning of Easter ?

Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus after his crucifixion

Christian people believe that Jesus was crucified on Good Friday and rose again three days later. These three days are known as the Easter Triduum.

The Easter season begins on Ash Wednesday – which is the first day of Lent (which lasts for 40 days and is a time when Christians fast or give up a particular food or vice)

Easter is not held on the same date every year. Currently all Christian churches agree on how the date is calculated. Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday, following the first full moon, after the Spring Equinox. This means it is celebrated in March or April.

The word ‘Easter’ is derived from Eastre, the name of the ancient German Goddess of Spring.
